How to Migrate to the New Google Sales Channel on Shopify

It has very critical importance to follow new developments closely in a rapidly changing and thriving marketplace, ecommerce, where competition is super high.

The Google sales channel will be run by Google as of September 1, 2022. In other words, a new app experience is replacing the current Google sales channel. Quickly immigrating to Google’s new sales channel will be pretty straightforward, as you won’t need to change any settings. No essential adjustment needs to be made to finish this migration.

You will be notified on the Google sales channel after your channel has been updated, and this change is automatic. Your ability to access the Google sales channel won’t be affected by this change. Also, you can continue to choose how you want data to be collected and shared between your online store and Google.

To sum up:

  1. In September, the Google sales channel will be on Google in full control. For this reason, the Sales channel will actually offer a different app experience.
  2. However, this difference does not require a setting change. You can think of it as an update.
  3. You should always follow the developments and keep your place in the competition by making innovations that will strengthen your business.

The options for your personal information and app permissions are the same as for the prior app experience. It is still decidable how data from your online store and Google will be gathered and shared. You must remove the Google sales channel from your Shopify store if you don’t want to take part in the update.
