Well, if you think about where 9/9 comes from, it’s from the psychological pricing method, which is only one pricing tactic among the various others. You’ve also come across prices ending in .99 because it’s everywhere. According to Schindler and Kibarian’s experiment, changing just one digit in pricing to 99 can increase sales by up to 8%, without any other alterations. So, there couldn’t be a better day for World Pricing Day rather than 9.9.

Sara-Marie Gansert is a seasoned pricing professional dedicated to enhancing profitability for companies spanning diverse industries through the implementation of strategic pricing approaches.

In her current role as a Solution Strategist at Pricefx, she plays a pivotal role in introducing businesses to customized pricing software solutions, enabling them to conquer their unique pricing challenges. 

Outside of work, she’s an avid adventurer who loves hiking, frequently exploring European cities, and immersing herself in captivating books.

Tim J. Smith

At Wiglaf Pricing, Tim leads client engagements to develop more vertebrae in their Pricing Spineometer™. He is the Academic Advisor to the Professional Pricing Society’s Certified Pricing Professional program and a member of the American Marketing Association.

He holds a BS in Physics and Chemistry from Southern Methodist University, a BA in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University, a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Chicago, and an MBA with high honors in Strategy and Marketing from Chicago Booth.
