About the Client

CT Shop is a Serbian retail and e-tail brand specializing in consumer electronics. Operating since 2014, the company employs nearly 100 staff and has established a strong presence in shopping malls. Their ecommerce platform features over 20,000 products, including low-value items like cables and high-value goods such as laptops and TVs. This extensive selection is supported by a strong network of vendors, along with their warehouse and retail shops’ stocks. To remain competitive in a dynamic market, CT Shop focuses on both retail and online sales.

Before Prisync

Before Prisync, CT Shop struggled with labor-intensive manual price tracking for its vast product range. Manual tracking was limited to high-revenue products, leaving the majority unmonitored. Alternative pricing tools imposed rigid competitor-link-based pricing, limiting flexibility. Also, they were unsuitable due to rigid pricing models and inconsistent quality. Their in-house solution, while functional, demanded extensive maintenance and frequently faced technical issues, such as IP blocks from anti-scraping tools. So, it was relatively easy to calculate and monitor their pricing, availability, and inventory for the products they were pulling on stock and having regularly. Saša Oravec from CT Shop stated that:

“And the issue for us was the remaining 80% of the products because it’s too many of them to be manually checked. And it’s simply, you know, it’s physically impossible.”

Price Monitoring with Prisync

CT Shop adopted Prisync to address these challenges, which were drawn by its product-based pricing model, which allowed unlimited competitor links per product. The team leveraged Prisync’s bulk import/export functionality for daily updates, enabling efficient data integration into their internal systems.

In terms of automation aspect, CT Shop utilized Prisync’s competitive price-tracking insights to automate pricing for handpicked 1,000 high-priority products, such as laptops, TVs, monitors, smartphones, smartwatches, etc., by applying predefined rules and removing the need for manual intervention.

According to Saša, the information provided by Prisync helped them to double that share of sales within the product group of laptops now. They plan to see in all product groups that we are testing and that the product is similarly increasing in the share of the value of the product, being monitored by Prisync and automatically priced and checked on a daily basis, which will increase to the same level in a short time. Saša also stated that:

“And also, which is not measurable in money, it’s the information value you provide us, even for our own stock. Our product managers can see if somebody dropped the price on the products which we have in stock so that they can react. …, and they are relying on the information that you are providing.”
